To call Ireland from the Czech Republic, use the national dialling code 00353 or +353, and then the area phone number, without the initial 0. You will be charged according to your tariff.

Czech telephone numbers have 9 digits; mobile numbers start with 6 or 7 and land lines with the 2, 3, 4 or 5, depending on the region.
As of 15 June 2017, within the European Union, roaming charges telephone calls, text messages and surfing the internet are abolished.

When travelling on the metro, you’ll be able to get a signal on the platforms but not in the tunnels.
In Prague you can still find public telephone boxes (although far fewer than in the past). You can pay for calls in euro, Czech crowns and by telephone cards. The latter are available at post offices.
